Opportunity Summary

An innovative engineering team developing advanced electronic switching technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to help design, prototype, and validate next generation digital control systems. This role centers on digital hardware design, microcontroller integration, and hands-on system testing within a collaborative product development environment. The engineer in this position will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across electrical, mechanical, RF, and software engineering to bring new hardware platforms from concept through prototype and into production readiness. The work combines board-level design, embedded control development, laboratory testing, and system-level debugging. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys building real hardware, solving complex engineering challenges, and working across the full development lifecycle. Job Duties

• Design and develop digital circuit architectures used in microcontroller based hardware systems

• Create and evaluate electronic prototypes based on internal product concepts and customer specifications

• Support the development of control electronics used in complex electromechanical and solid state switching platforms

• Perform board bring-up activities including debugging, validation, and performance testing

• Conduct hardware testing using laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters, and data acquisition tools

• Develop and modify embedded firmware used for hardware control, diagnostics, and testing

• Work closely with mechanical, RF, and software engineers to ensure successful system integration

• Evaluate electrical, mechanical, and thermal behavior of components and subsystems during development

• Assist with PCB design efforts and participate in printed circuit board layout reviews

• Troubleshoot board level electronics and integrated electromechanical systems

• Develop engineering test methods and assist with the creation of production test procedures

• Support internal manufacturing teams and external contract manufacturers during product development and troubleshooting

• Contribute to engineering documentation, system specifications, and technical proposals

• Assist with laboratory setup, instrumentation selection, and development of prototype testing environments


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline

• 5+ years of experience designing and troubleshooting electronic hardware systems

• Experience working with digital circuit design and microcontroller based electronics

• Experience bringing up and debugging newly designed circuit boards

• Experience working within engineering development laboratories performing hardware testing and validation

• Strong understanding of electronic components, digital interfaces, and board level architecture

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic systems


Preferred Experience

• Experience working with microcontroller platforms such as Microchip, Atmel, or similar architectures

• Experience developing embedded firmware using C or C++

• Familiarity with digital communication interfaces including SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, and USB

• Experience using electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and data acquisition systems

• Familiarity with PCB design and layout tools such as Mentor Graphics or comparable software

• Experience developing engineering tools or test utilities using scripting languages such as Python or tools such as LabVIEW

• Experience supporting production hardware testing or manufacturing environments

• Experience working in small product development teams

• Familiarity with electromechanical systems or switching technologies

• Experience with PCB prototyping techniques including soldering and rework of circuit board assemblies

Compensation Details

Salary range: $140,000 - $180,000
